We continue with our look back with some of the players who have graced the Ramsbottom United shirt going back over the years and the next is a man who played in the Football League for Blackpool, Macclesfield and Rotherham United at the turn of the century.

Having finally taken a break from knock-out action for a couple of weeks, the Rams headed up to a wet and wild Workington for the first round proper of the FA Trophy on this day, Saturday 15th December 2018.

Seven years ago, in November 2013, Ramsbottom United achieved a feat that very few clubs at non-league level could – they fielded a full XI players who made over 100 appearances for the club.

If there is to be a list of Ramsbottom United legends ever published, this man will be one of the highest ranked on there!

On Saturday 2nd December 2000, a new signing stepped out at The Riverside for the first time in a Ramsbottom United shirt.

Saturday 28th November is a date that is sadly etched in the memory of a great many Ramsbottom United supporters. Not because of the 2-1 victory at Alsager Town in the North West Counties but because of the news that broke the next morning.

It was almost like the league season had been put on an indefinite hold as, for the fourth time in five games, the Rams went out onto the park for a FA Trophy game and a second replay in the space of eight days.

It was a very quick turnaround after disposing of Yaxley in the second qualifying round of the 2018/19 FA Trophy as the Rams faced fellow Evo-Stik side Pickering Town just four days later – on this very day, 24th November 2018.
