Overview:
Another game that feels like a must win for the Rams against a side who sit in 18th just one point above Rammy. Despite the fact the visitors are only one point above us in the league they do boast two games in hand over the hosts.

The visitors come into this one in relatively good form not losing in their last three outings. They managed to muster up wins against Glossop in a tight affair as well as smashing Warrington Rylands. In their last match Colne drew with Bootle.

However Ramsbottom have had quite the opposite last three games conceding 11 goals and not managing to get a point on the board since there emphatic away win over Bootle. Both players and coaching staff are eager to put this bad run of form behind them and start collecting points as soon as possible. With the home crowd behind them this weekend is a fantastic opportunity to do just that.

With Luke Barlow missing through injury and Lee Neville suspended it’s going to be tough for the Rams but they know they have be compact and defend as a team if they want to get anything from this game.

History:
Check out our “Have We Met?” feature linked below where you can read about the history between the two clubs.

HAVE WE MET… COLNE?

However since we posted the “Have We Met” the two teams have faced each other on two separate occasions.

The first meeting came on 8th September 2021 where the Rams ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from James Murphy, Eddie Cooper and Godwin Abadaki. However, the reverse fixture ended in defeat for Ramsbottom after Daniel Edwards scored the winner early in the first half.

Managers thoughts:
As we all know this is a derby game but more importantly a game we must win and give a performance.

I understand currently there is a divide within the fan base and results and especially performances have caused this. I would like to say that as a team we are still in transition and I’ve mentioned previously that this is a young side and we will go through the toughest of tests and currently we find ourselves being tested like never before and in a position we don’t want to be in.

Lack of effort and poor attitude from individuals is also an issue I need to address and I am all out to get this right. If I believe I cannot improve this side and move us up the table and turn this round then I will honestly hold my hands up and do what’s right for the club.

The booing at the game v Widnes was very tough for me personally and after game in changing rooms the lads were heartbroken some took it worse than others, But for the 1st time this season I seen how much it meant to the lads.

All I ask is can we please stand together and unite during this tough spell. We are stronger together!
