OVERVIEW:
This will be a big challenge for the Rams tonight as Workington sit third in the table just five points behind the leaders Warrington but they have three games in hand. After Saturdays defeat to Colne Rammy sit in 16th and will be hoping to improve on that before the end of the campaign.
However, a slight positive for the hosts tonight is that Workington have visited our home on five separate occasions and have failed to record a win on any of those occasions. Something else that can give the Ramsbottom faithful some hope this evening is their home record with the Rams obtaining 28 out of their 36 points at home.
After the defeat on Saturday Colne managed to leap frog Rammy and move on up into 14th with the Rams dropping down to 16th just four points above the dotted line. Donafee and his men will be wanting to improve on a sluggish performance at the weekend and will want to start quickly against a very good Workington outfit.
The game will also mark the return of ex-boss Chris Willcocks first return to the Riverside as Workington manager.
A close run game back in September when the hosts on that day ran out 1-0 victors but Ramsbottom will be hoping that it’s them who come out as winner this evening.

Manager Lee Donafee is looking for a big reaction from the weekend’s defeat at Colne.
“It’s will be a tough test tonight against a well drilled side, we’re all disappointed at Saturday result and looking to bounce back.”
“What we saw Saturday was embarrassing and we we looked like we couldn’t play football.”
“Sometimes as a manager you look at yourself first and having done so that performance was not on the management but solely on lads not being at it or good enough on the day.”
